For a long time, from the 1950s to 1970s, many textiles were pre-treated with insecticides to prevent damage from moth larvae but, as people became more reluctant to have materials containing insecticides around the house, these were phased out. The result has been the re-emergence of the clothes moth and our favourite suits and sweaters are now more susceptible to damage.
The solution is the Vitax Clothes Moth Trap, a completely harmless, non-toxic, way to handle the problem. The triangular traps are specially designed to fit into those places where we store clothes. They have a sticky non-drying glue on the inner surface which contains a pheromone to attract the male moth, and once they land on it, there’s no way off. The traps effectively break the moths’ breeding cycle (no males, no eggs, no hungry larvae). The traps remain active for about three months.
